Ashtanga Yoga
' Since starting Astanga yoga, the most noticeable improvement has been increased stamina, I can now achieve postures that I didn't believe I would find possible and I am more supple and toned. Friends have also commented that my posture has improved. I come out of the sessions feeling relaxed and toned up and have found the relaxation techniques helpful during the odd sleepless night or trip to the dentist''

ASTANGA YOGA
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Astanga yoga, in Sanskrit means 8 limbs. The eight limbs are restraint, observance, posture, breath control, sense withdrawal, concentration, meditative absorption, and "enstasy." ( inside of )
Vinyasa, is a method of synchronizing a series of postures with a specific breathing technique (ujjayi)—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
Practice of the Primary Series is designed to cleanse and purify the internal organs of the body through prevention of the accumulation of waste products. Each posture has specific benefits. For example, forward-bending asanas are helpful in toning the internal organs of the abdomen and relieving constipation.
The Ashtanga Yoga system places equal emphasis on strength, flexibility, and stamina.
The courses are run from beginners to beginners/Advanced and are in blocks of 10 weeks. Drop in classes are for beginners/int and above.
