How to train- celeb style!

If you want to get your body in optimum shape, there are some golden rules
to adhere to. And these rules are followed by all my celebrity clients to
peak perfection in fitness, health and looking good.

First and foremost have fun. When clients first come to me they will be over
ambitious saying they want to train 2 or 3 hours a day and follow this book
or that reigime. If you are regimented and somehow think you are suddenly
lenix louis, superman or God- then you will give up after a week, because
you are none of the above- hence boredom and fatigue will set in- and you
will be on that couch with ten fags in your hand and beer surrounding you
for recovery. So start small, very small, work step by step, you learnt to
walk this way- you can learn to get the body of Adonis this way. The
important thing to remember is this should be part of the rest of your life,
its not a binge, so whats the rush? Have a goal for every day, even if its
just doing sit ups when the adverts come on the tv. Then increase it and
before you know it you will be running a marathon.
Your workout needs to have some structure though- to get the most from your
workouts you should aim to train 45 mins to 1 ½ hrs in one session. Any more
than that and again you are looking to have a fall because time keeping and
monotony and fatigue will pay the price. Workout at least 3 times a week-
this is for maintenance, if you want to increase your fitness workout more,
but always have one day off a week- your body needs and deserves it! Try
and work your heart rate at one level 30 mins-45mins three times a week (
Cardio vascular- CV ) . So cycling, running, swimming- most people make the
mistake of training too hard too soon. You can stop this by buying a heart
rate monitor- your heart rate should be 220-your age and then take 80% of
that. So- if you are 30years old 220-30 = 190 x 80% =152
Then train your heart rate at 152 consistently.
Have a cross training workout once a week- You can have great fun with this!
Cross training means working your pulse up high for one to three minutes and
then doing resistance work for one to three minutes. So get out in the
park, find an area that has logs, tree stumps, styles- take some free
weights with you or dyna bands and you will have a blast. To get your pulse
up, step up and down on the style, run short bursts between two trees, jump
over a log, climb up and down a tree the list is endless- if you want some
competition take a dog! For resistance work tricep dip of stump, lunge walk,
press up on a log, pull ups on a branch. You can even name your posts, have
the tree of despair for the challenging moves, or the style of horror or the
paddock of love for relaxation moves. Ok you will look mad, but you will
have fun and that is the key. You can even set your house up for fun and
frolics, train with your partner and reward each other after each post, you
will burn twice the calories!

The other structure to your workout needs to be resistance work. You must
tone your body, other wise you can end up burning away muscle. Its also
important for raising your metabolic rate. Do this twice a week, it can be
after your CV workout, you can use free weights, dyna bands or use your own
body weight- eg: a press up.

And lastly flexibility, to get the most from a stretch use a band or towel
to pull you further into it. For example for your ham strings ( backs of
legs ) sit on the floor, with your legs straight in front of you. Role the
towel up and hold either end. Place the middle of the towel over your feet
and walk your hands up the sides Alternatively try yoga, I run Astanga yoga

Variety will add spice to your workouts, and keep you challenged, keep

another- keep searching for the peak and you will reap the rewards.
