Zest '' Training tip of the month
To really stretch your muscles and calm your mind, try doing a few yoga moves after you've worked out, says Personal Trainer Christianne Wolff''When you've finished going your cardio work', she says, ' first so your normal stretches then try stretching out with a downward dog. Start off on all ours with your hands-shoulder width apart. Then tuck your toes underneath you and lift up your hips towards the ceiling, keeping your feet hip-width part and knees slightly bent. Now try to straighten your legs, pushing your heels and hands down into the floor and letting your head hang down in line with your neck. Imagine trying to form an upside down V-shape, with your body. Hold the stretch for ten seconds.
'Now move into an upward dos by lowering your body towards the floor, so your back is flat and your shoulders are directly above your wrists. Raise your chest and arch your back to form a C-shape. Your head should be tilted back and your hands pushing into the floor but keep the tops of your feet on the floor. Hold the stretch for ten seconds and breathe. Repeat the moves four times.'
